Between a Rock and a Hard Place: A Scenario for A Leader of Men

Between a Rock and a Hard Place

In 1944 the USMC 1st Division was tasked to attack and secure the island fortress of Pelieu. The small island had become such a rabbit warren of honeycombed defenses that the USMC spent weeks grinding away at, taking the division close to complete exhaustion as a combat formation.

This scenario booklet looks at the part of that battle, presenting a a scenario for the rules A Leader of Men by TFP Games.

The scenario put you in control of either USMC or Japanese forces.

It may also be used as a solo play scenario using the rules in the ALoM rule book.

This scenario is not for the faint of heart, it will require courage and resolution to make it, and sometimes an acceptance that today you may have failed.

This scenario contains:

a deployment map,

scenario orders of battle and

special rules.
