Kami is a card game inspired by the structure and hand-building principles of Mahjong, played with standard playing cards. Players draw and discard cards to build a winning hand composed of sets, while trying to fulfil at least one scoring combination called a Key.
During play, cards may also be captured from other players' discards to complete sets, opening the player's hand. Trump cards, the Turn Jack and the player's Position can contribute to scoring, while more advanced rules introduce additional combinations and strategic possibilities.
A round ends when a player completes a valid winning hand, either by drawing the required card or by claiming another player's discard. Players score according to the Keys and bonuses in their hand, and points are transferred between players. The game is played over a series of rounds, with the aim of finishing with the highest score.
