Battle Box - Civil War is a complete mass battle wargame in a small tin box that fits in your pocket. It includes 12 units, a highly configurable battlefield in 3 double sided strips, 2 dice, and a deck of 36 command cards; providing a full wargaming experience in a box.
The main rules use a card-driven command system based on left-center-right flank commands, plus special cards such as "grand battery", "forced march", and "fog of war" that create unique moments during the battle. They are concise but purposeful rules that cover movement, attacks at different ranges, flanking, retreats, close assaults, mounted maneuvers, terrain rules, etc.
Solo and multiplayer rules use command rolls to determine how many orders each player has available for the turn, plus half the cards in the command deck can be used as special actions in multiplayer games, such as "battle cry" before and assault, or a well coordinated "general advance".
The victory conditions are set by one of 4 scenarios, but players are encouraged to create their own historical battles with the configurable terrain.
