Corridors: Heart of Hunger is a solo card game in which the player descends through a fixed 72-card deck ("factory order" - the deck is deliberately not shuffled) toward the Heart card near its bottom. Each revealed card offers three choices ("lanes") with printed costs and effects; the player may only choose lanes they can afford.
The core economy is information: players may pay Thread (the game's currency) to peek at upcoming cards, and written notes are explicitly legal. Wager lanes reward correctly naming the type, glyph, or exact name of the next card. Other lanes burn cards from the deck, recall burned cards from the ash pile, or reorder what comes next.
To win, the player must reach the Heart carrying three Seals and two Relics, having fed the maze, with enough Thread to pay the final toll - while surviving hazards, thieves, and a compass that determines whether they are LOST when it matters most.
Three modes: Standard (the built maze, identical every game), Deep Dark (all information costs doubled), and Chaos (fully shuffled, no promises). A free browser implementation with server-verified games and leaderboards is available at the game's website. Heart of Hunger is the first deck in the publisher's planned "Living Labyrinth" series of standalone card games.
