Tosswords is a word-formation game in which each player or team seeks to be the first to retire their set of 26 alphabet tiles.
To retire two tiles (the simplest possible move), a player starts by blindly choosing two tiles and follows up by tossing one of the two game dice (a cubic die marked 0-5 for regular play and a 12-faced die for advanced play). If you can come up with a word containing the two chosen letters such that the number of spaces between them equals the toss of the die, you can retire those two letters by placing them in the appropriate slots on the game mat. If no word is found, the chosen tiles return to the original pile.
It is possible to retire more than two tiles simply by adding an extra tile or two to the initial choice of two tiles that must be separated in accordance with the toss of the die -- if you come up with a word that also includes any extra tiles, you may retire all of them. Obviously this strategy is higher-risk, higher-reward.
The first player or team to retire all of their tiles is the winner.
