Quarter Life Crisis is a satirical party game about surviving your twenties. Each player picks a Career Path, which sets their starting Health, Social, and Finance stats, then gets dealt a hand of Life Event cards representing the chaos of early adulthood, from rent you can't afford to a job you're "lucky to have" to a group chat with opinions about your situationship.
On a turn, a player draws a Life Event card, then chooses one action: Sacrifice, Rest, Socialise, or Work. This action resolves based on whatever Life Event cards are already in play on that player's board, and the player may optionally play a card from their hand by paying its stated cost. Life Event cards come in three types, Risk, Hobby, and Setback, which always resolve in that order, and none of a player's three stats can ever drop below 1.
Players win by being the first to reach 20 or more points in one of Health, Social, or Finance, while keeping at least 5 points in each of the other two, forcing everyone to balance chasing success in one part of life against letting the other two completely fall apart. Players later in turn order get a small bonus of flexible points to split across the three stats, offsetting the advantage of going first.
