Final Rites is a horror-themed card game in which players take the roles of hunters pursuing supernatural creatures. The deck contains Threat cards representing monsters and Execution cards representing the specific methods used to defeat them, along with a single Death card and specialty cards.
Players begin with a dealt hand and remove any matching Threat and Execution pairs to their Trophy Pile. During play, hunters take turns drawing cards from one another and immediately claiming any completed Threat and Execution pairs. Specialty cards can allow hunters to interfere with one another's Trophy Piles.
Play continues until all possible monster pairs have been claimed. The hunter with the most completed pairs in their Trophy Pile wins the game. The player left holding the Death card loses.
