SOON is a strategic, fun, and minimalist card game where players try to complete a sequence of 8 increasingly rare cards, using special cards to help them along the way.
But speed isn't everything: cards come in two colours (Day and Night) and a monochromatic sequence doubles your points, making every decision crucial.
Easy to learn, blending tactics with luck, the Zen aesthetic of SOON hides surprising strategic depth.
Every game is different, offering both moments of tension and the euphoria of completing a perfect sequence.
The core of the game consists of 86 Number cards used to build your sequence. The higher the number, the rarer the card; while it’s easy to start your sequence, finishing it becomes a real challenge (there are fourteen 1 cards, but only six 8 cards). Cards come in two colours:
Day to reach the Sun
Night to reach the Moon
While sequences can be mixed, a single-colour sequence is worth double points!
To help you reach your destination or to slow down your opponents, 22 Special cards complete the deck:
The Joker - Play it as any card from 1 to 7.
The Thief - Steal a card from an opponent’s sequence.
The Explorer - Ask for a card from a neighbour’s hand.
Lightning - Force a player to discard the highest card in their sequence.
The 108 cards are presented in an elegant box with a minimalist, Zen design. Its dimensions (130x100x25mm) make it easy to store on a shelf or take with you on the go. The cards are high quality (300gsm) and the robust, durable box is made from 1.2mm thick cardboard.
Gameplay
Players each start with 3 random cards and take turns trying to build their sequence. On each turn, you begin by drawing a card from the deck or the discard pile (except if it's a special card) and then perform one of the following actions:
Add the next number to your sequence (if available).
Replace a card already in your sequence (to change the colour, for example).
Play a Special card to gain an advantage or slow down your opponents.
Discard a card (other than the one just drawn).
