With preparation of the Strategic Action Program (SAP), the Project for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development of the Guarani Aquifer System (PGAS) achieved its ultimate goal of creating a management framework for this important aquifer, in support of sustainable groundwater management in the countries that overlie it: Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. This represented the culmination of efforts launched in March 2003, with definition of the most convenient actions to be carried out in each country, and in cooperation among the four countries, in the region overlying the Guarani Aquifer System.
Aquifer is a strategy game about groundwater governance, infrastructure planning, and long-term sustainability.
In Aquifer, players take the role of national water authorities competing, and indirectly cooperating, to manage a shared transboundary aquifer system. Through strategic infrastructure development, scientific investment, and policy coordination, players must balance infrastructure growth with ecological preservation.
