Earbus is a team-based party game of sound riddles-a rebus for your ears-in which how a word is said provides the clue to a familiar phrase. Each card shows three phrases in different colors, with one word in quotation marks. On a team's turn, the clue giver chooses the round's color, draws a card, and says only the quoted word, using accent, pitch, volume, rhythm, singing, pauses, whispers, or repetition to suggest the complete phrase. They may not say the other word or use gestures.
Teammates shout guesses while a 60-second timer runs. Each correctly guessed phrase is worth one point, and the clue giver immediately draws another card. A team may skip up to two cards per turn without penalty, after which the other team takes its turn. Players rotate the clue-giver role between rounds.
The first team to reach 20 points triggers the end of the game; the team with the higher score wins. Ties are broken by playing additional rounds until one team finishes a round ahead.
