In 2013 Mayfair Games conducted a big game and set a world record for the most people playing in the same Catan game at the same time… 922 people. This record was then beaten in 2015 when 1,040 players, including Klaus Teuber himself, played at an event in Essen, Germany.
Two years later in 2017, the record was once again beaten when 1,096 players played at an event in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
The group experience shared by the players and the combined mutual excitement in play resulted in one of the great events in the world of gaming.
